Mississauga Portuguese Wedding

Melissa and Matt’s Mississauga Portuguese wedding started in their parents’ homes while both of them were getting ready.  The moment we got to Matt’s house we just knew that this wedding day was going to be so much more than we expected.  We were so affected by the incredible love, closeness, and emotion we got to witness at their homes.  We kept looking at each other throughout the day and talking about how much we love this couple and this day.  Melissa and Matt came to see us at one of the wedding shows, but we learned that it was actually Melissa’s sister Michelle that has found us and highly recommended us.  Thank you Michelle.  Without you this amazing couple might have not been a part of our lives and being one of the reasons our job is the best job in the world.  As Matt was getting ready he opened a gift and a card he received from his bride.  We are such huge fans of either the first look or exchanging gifts before the wedding.  Those little moments create so much genuine emotion and allow us to capture those moments candidly.  We loved watching all the little emotional, silly moments between everyone.

After few hours of preparation we all proceed to Christ the King Church in Mississauga for the catholic ceremony where we witnessed the emotional exchange of vows.  This couple is so in love with each other.  It was beautiful to witness that.

After the ceremony the newlyweds, their families and bridal party proceeded to Gairloch Gardens in Oakville for some formal wedding pictures by the lake.  We had so much fun with everybody and Melissa and Matt were just perfect in front of the camera.  It seems like the engagement session really helped in getting comfortable in front of the camera.

Our night ended with a fun reception at Mississauga Convention Centre.  The day really couldn’t have been any more perfect.  We had the perfect amount of time, the perfect attitude from Bride and Groom toward the day and the meaning of it.  I’m not going to lie, I liked having the camera in front of my face to hide my tears as I was overcome with emotion witnessing the love and emotion of these families.  Thank you Melissa and Matt for choosing us for your special day.  You two are truly wonderful people.  We can’t wait to share more of your photos see you soon and start planning your album.  If you like what you see please SHARE it / PIN it / and COMMENT below.  We can’t wait to hear what you think.

Melissa had gone out one weekend to a nightclub (108) and after seeing Matthew instantly thinking he was really cute.
Matt just like Melissa was also there that night with his group of his friends.  One of their mutual friend came over to speak to Melissa and after talking about their circle of friends she insisted that Melissa meet her friend with the amazing eyes.  Sure enough she called Matt over. After their brief introduction Melissa shared with her friends who she was just introduced to.  One friend took it upon themselves to let Matt know that she found him attractive.  Matt then came to speak to her and later that night exchanged phone numbers and the rest is history.
Melissa and Matt’s proposal story is somewhat similar to ours. Here it is in Melissa’s words: Matt and I went to Portugal on a vacation.  We had gone for a walk through town.  I went to go show Matt my grandparents house at which I spent many summers with them and have many great memories growing up in their house.  Matt asked me to point out my bedroom window and to tell him more about their house.  After noticing that he wasn’t paying attention Matt gently held my hands and began to express how he felt towards me and asked me to marry him.  We cried, hugged and shared a couple of kisses!!!
