Evergreen Brickworks wedding photos – Elegant Toronto wedding on a rainy day
It took us longer than usual to post this blog because it was so hard to narrow down the photos for this blog. The day was absolutely perfect in every way possible starting with Grace and Will who couldn’t have been more wonderful. Despite the weather it was a day filled with so much love, intertwined with shows of emotion, perfect little details, the most wonderful families and friends, perfect locations and so much more. in fact it felt so perfect to us that looking back it felt like it was sunny all day long. The groom looked so incredibly handsome in his classic Burberry tuxedo. Since the bride bought her wedding dress at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York (although she didn’t “Say Yes to The Dress” for the TV show) it was only fitting that she should get all her little details there as well long with stunning wedding bands from Tiffany & Co. She looked so incredibly stunning in her dress which with all the little details created a very vintage and classic look. Have I mentioned the cathedral veil?
The couple also incorporated some of our favoutite moments into the day. Most of our couples know that we’re huge fans of the First Look or the Reveal. However, if you need to skip the reveal then we just as much love and recommend gift exchange and the reveal with the parents. Well, let’s just say we got spoiled at this wedding. It was so beautiful witnessing Grace’s emotions as she opened her gift of Tiffany & Co earrings and read Will’s card. Will received the Burberry watch along with extra surprise gift, which of course knowing their history, was a beautiful guitar.
Followed by their exchange came a very emotional moment of the reveal to the parents. Let’s just say that I love having the camera in front of my face to hide my tears, especially when I witness the families reactions to seeing the bride or the groom all ready to go for the first time on their special day. Grace’s dad’s reaction was so incredibly touching as he saw his baby girl as a bride for the first time. Another highlight of the day was Grace receiving a special gift from her grandmother. Her grandmother passed down the only diamonds in the form of a necklace she ever received from Grace’s grandfather who passed away. The emotion was just so undeniable and touching. Their beautiful catholic ceremony took place in St. Brigid’s Catholic Church.
After the ceremony we decided to have the formal photos taken at the Don Mills Brick Works (also known as the Evergreen Brick Works). It was such a perfect location for a gloomy, rainy day. This couple, but especially the bride were up for anything. Which also meant walking through puddles and getting her stunning dress and cathedral veil dirty. Was it ever worth it though.
The perfect day ended with an incredible celebration at the Grand Baccus Banquet Hall. Their wedding hall was beautifully decorated in Royal Blue, Silver and White. The guests danced the night away with the help of great entertainment from DJ Carlo Simone and Trio Band – Savista intertwined with Same Day Edit Video and Photo Slide Show along with their Engagement Video. Their first dance was so emotional but the father daughter dance took the cake with many tears among the guests along with Grace and her dad. We are so thankful that because of another bride, also named Grace and her wedding our paths have crossed, and Grace and Will chose us to document their day, emotions, and memories through photos and video. This wedding day and this couple will stay in our hearts for a very long time with a life long friendship already blooming. One can only be so blessed to have such beautiful people in their lives and get to experience these emotions of love almost every weekend. We count our blessings each day. Thank you Grace and Will and thank you to your beautiful families.
Will and Grace met while working at the Air Canada Centre together. They were probably around 17-18 years old. They kept in touch throughout the years, but really reconnected in 2008 when Will and Grace joined the same ball hockey team. Will proposed at Massey Hall, in an empty concert theatre. Massey hall is where they had our 1st date about 5 years ago; they went to see a Jason Mraz concert.
Here is their story in their own words:
Will came up with this elaborate story that his mom “won” tickets from a radio station to see a concert at Massey Hall. They asked me to pick up these tickets as it’s not far from my work. Just as I was leaving the office, Will sent me a text to say that he is going to meet me in front of the concert theatre. His story was that he needed to bring his guitar in for repair once we were done.
I arrived at Massey Hall, (Willl of course was there 1st) he tells me that we get a private tour of Massey Hall for winning these Tickets. The concert hall was completed empty. It was just me, Will and the cutest elderly man named Douglass our “tour guide”. Douglass showed us the concert hall from top to bottom, backstage, balcony, everything. It wasn’t until we got taken to the stage that Douglass conveniently noticed that Will had his guitar (Douglass knew exactly what was going on) and asked Will if he could hear him play. Will then took out his guitar, while I took a seat in the audience. Will preformed a song by Train called “Marry Me” once his performance was over I went up on the stage with him. That was the moment Will got down on one knee and proposed with the most beautiful ring. All the while our parents were outside Massey Hall waiting for us to come out with flowers in hand and camera ready.
