Toronto Fall wedding photos – Michelle and Jonathan wedding

 Toronto Portuguese wedding photos

To say that the weather cooperated for us for this Toronto fall wedding would be an understatement. On the morning of Michelle and Jonathan’s wedding we had an official weather warning in effect. With heavy rain, high winds and the chance of a thunderstorm in the forecast, we had begun our “poor weather creativity back up plan” brainstorming session. Ever the fair weather optimists, we kept our hopes high as we headed to meet Jonathan and his groomsmen. All the guys greeted us warmly and we had a good laugh to start the day. Soon after it was off to downtown to meet up with Michelle. (Still not a drop of rain at this point by the way). Michelle was one relaxed bride, just as expected, and was even ahead of schedule. She looked simply stunning in her Stella York wedding gown.

Some portraits and family photos done, we had a quick drive to the church for a beautiful Catholic ceremony performed by the same priest who married Michelle’s parents.

Leaving the church and finding it was still not raining, we knew we needed to make the most of our good weather window. It was overcast, but not raining. If you have ever heard that this is something that photographers love, you have heard correctly. Nice soft light, no harsh shadows! Michelle and Jonathan had chosen The Historic Distillery District of Toronto for their Toronto wedding photos location, a place we know and love. The beautiful colours of the red brick and green doors, the old and the new architecture, it’s all there and it’s a perfect backdrop for Toronto fall wedding photos. Distillery District is one of our favourite places in the city to shoot.

After an amazing engagement session we did at Eaton Hall we knew these two had a special connection, but it was a pleasure to watch and document their love on their wedding day.  After a couple of hours, lots of photos, great time with an amazing bridal party (and a couple of shots of vodka at the beautiful Spirit of York Distillery), we packed up and headed to the reception. We were happy to know that the reception would be in good hands as we were headed to the Bellagio by Peter and Paul’s. We were not disappointed. With a classic and elegant vintage wedding theme and Ivory, Vintage rose, gold colours the room looked amazing decorated by Precious Flowers N Things.  They even encluded some personal DIY touches like the custom wedding car box made by the groom from a tree stump.

A grand room with a boutique feel. A little side note, it started pouring rain shortly after we settled in the hall. We could not have asked for more. The Bellagio’s food and Gary from S4 Entertainment wowed everyone as per usual and night went off, as the day had, without a hitch!

Thank you so much Michelle and Jonathan for letting us play a part in your amazing day! A beautiful day for two beautiful people. Congratulations!
